Prologic Corporation (Now rebranded as Webcreek Technology) was my first software job. I was given very high levels of responsibility and expected to know my stuff. Everyone in the company is very polite, and generally fun to be around. Since there are so few people working, you really get to know everyone, especially the CEO. Expect to have a very real difference on the products the company makes.
Everything that I listed before can also be taken as a con. Not only was it my first software job, it was about everyone elses first software jobs. Sure, people who have been working there longer have more experience, but it is very easy to make structural mistakes when the products are uncharted territory for everyone involved. While there are a very small amount of people, it means that there is a lot more pressure to get everything done by yourself. In fact, I had very little mentoring/guidance/documentation for almost every project I worked on, and had to spend many hours in and out of the office catching up. While managing responsibilities outside of the company, this proved to be extremely stressful – especially considering the compensation. Because this is nearly everyones first software job, I am sure the company hires in at comically low wages.
Invest in the companys documentation, and force anyone new to the team or a project to have a dedicated mentor, who will perform CONSISTENT code reviews for them and answer any questions. Also, one experienced and expensive developer will be much better for the company overall than several cheap ones who have no idea what theyre doing.
People are nice there. The office is beautiful.

Flexibility, excellent management, challenging projects. I really learned a lot here. If you live in the Woodlands, this is a great place to work.It is rewarding to work on a project from start to finish and see it be successful. This was the case on every project I participated in. The technical staff are very skilled and proficient.
Dont get the opportunity for repetition or specialization because every project is different. Expect to work hard as is true of most consulting companies – cant hide out here.
This company has a lot of potential, my advice would be to invest in additional growth
Prologic is very flexible which is a plus if you have a tough or tight schedule with your family and children.
There isnt any rooom for advancement or promotion. Regular reviews and raises are not done on a consistent basis either.
There should be more of a hiearchy structure with clear opportunities for promotion to higher positions. There should also be regular reviews and raises, and they should be conducted by area managers rather than by one person, the owner. The owner cant possibly be aware of every good thing someone does or how effecient they operate on a regular basis. There are too many projects and too little time in the day for him to possibly know everything thats going on with everyone.

Flexible work schedules, free to develop new skill sets, free to be creative, early and often exposure to senior level personnel.
no regular employee reviews, no regular scheduled raises, no bonuses, no room for promotion, some local travel to clients offices required (but not really too bad)
There are currently no benefit reviews for this company.
